The Firm

A senior advisory model built around direct responsibility.

P Ghosh & Co is an independent advisory firm based in Gaborone, Botswana.

The firm works with boards, executives, investors and business owners on financial, governance and transformation matters requiring senior judgement and close involvement.

Independent by design

  • 01Principal-led from diagnosis through delivery
  • 02Direct access to principal advisor
  • 03Specialist support when mandate requires it.
  • 04Defined Engagement with clear responsibility

Operating Model

Responsibility should remain with the one exercising judgement.

The adviser trusted to understand the matter should remain involved in shaping the response, engaging stakeholders and guiding the work forward.

Partha Ghosh leads engagements directly.

Additional specialists are introduced where required, but senior responsibility remains clear throughout. The model avoids two common extremes:

A single adviser claiming to cover every discipline. A large team in which responsibility becomes dispersed and the client becomes distant from the senior adviser.

Working Principals

How the firm works?

01

Diagnose before prescribing.

The firm begins by establishing what has changed, what is at stake and whether the apparent issue is the underlying one.

02

Keep the mandate proportionate.

Not every problem requires a large programme.

The scope is shaped around the decision, risk or organisational change that must be addressed.

03

Stay close to execution.

Advice is tested against the organisation's ability to act.

Where appropriate, the firm remains involved through implementation and subsequent decision points.

04

Work with the existing institution.

P Ghosh & Co may work alongside management, boards, finance teams, auditors, legal advisers, technology partners and investors.

The aim is not to displace capable people. It is to improve clarity, alignment and execution.

05

Protect independence and discretion.

Sensitive matters require clear professional boundaries, disciplined handling and an understanding of the interests surrounding the organisation.

Engagement Formats

How the Firm Engages?

01

Defined mandate

A bounded assignment addressing a specific decision, review, transaction or organisational requirement.

02

Continuing advisory

Ongoing senior support to a board, executive, investor, founder or leadership team.

03

Interim leadership support

Time-bound reinforcement where an organisation requires experienced financial or organisational leadership during transition.

04

Transaction and post-investment support

Advisory before, during and after an investment, transaction or change in ownership.

Client Fit

Who the Firm Works With?

Best suited to organisations where the quality of the decision matters more than the volume of activity.

P Ghosh & Co. typically works with:

Regulated financial institutions | Public-interest and professionally regulated entities | Multinational and internationally connected organisations | Boards and executive leadership teams | Investors and capital providers | Founder-led and growth-stage businesses | Organisations navigating material transition

The practice is deliberately selective.

It is not positioned as a high-volume accounting provider or an outsourced administrative finance service.

The firm is intentionally compact. The matters are not.
